I read with great interest the recently published article by Li et al.,1 which suggests that a risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection may be significantly higher in subjects with blood-group A and significantly lower in those with blood-group O. This case-control study compared the ABO blood-group distribution in 265 cases with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at the Central Hospital of Wuhan with that in 3694 heathy controls.
