Plier-like, handheld, manual instruments with jaws conformed to hold and cut pins or wires. They are typically used during orthopedic surgery to cut wires and/or pins to the needed length as they are being implanted in the patient. Some pin/wire cutters have silicon tips to grip the cut end of the pin or wire so that it does not fly off and can be disposed of safely.
