Devices designed to provide a bacteria-proof barrier between the unsterile surfaces they cover and the sterile surgical field. Their flexible, cloth-like properties allow them to cover the contours of patients, instruments, and operating tables. These drapes are resistant to abrasions and punctures. Surgical drapes help create the sterile environment required for surgical procedures such as angiographic, ophthalmic, and orthopedic procedures and to cover medical instruments in surgery (e.g. operating microscope). These drapes are available as reusable woven or as disposable nonwoven materials.
