Injectors designed to deliver subcutaneous and/or intramuscular medicines (e.g., anesthetics, antibiotics, vitamins) and/or vaccines. These injectors may consist either of a handheld mechanism where standard plunger syringes with appropriate needles are placed or mechanisms using high pressure (e.g., carbon dioxide cartridges) to inject the liquid (i.e., needleless systems). Medication/vaccine injectors are used in hospitals, other health care facilities, and in the field when frequent injections are necessary.
