Chest radiographic units that include a storage magazine, a pair of intensifying screens, a receiving magazine, and a transport assembly. The x-ray films are loaded in bulk into the storage magazine, and the transport assembly is used for automatic film transport from the storage magazine to the exposure position and directly into a film-receiving magazine or into a film processor after exposure. Some systems also automatically center between the x-ray beam and the film. These units increase patient throughput and minimize film-handling errors; they are mostly used in high-volume radiology departments.
