Peristaltic motility analyzers that determine the motility of the colon (colon motility studies) and/or the pressure in the rectum and the internal and external sphincter (anorectal motility studies). These analyzers typically use small inflatable balloons and pressure sensors; some include computer capabilities for recording and data processing. Colon/rectum motility analyzers are mostly used in the assessment of fecal incontinence.
