Peripheral block needles designed with an isolated body, except for the tip. These needles typically include an integral stimulation wire and an attached injection catheter and Luer adaptor for connection to an electrical stimulator and a drug source, respectively. Insulated peripheral block needles are designed both to localize the nerves of the limbs, improving tip location, and for injection of anesthetics to cut off their conductivity.
