Stents designed for temporary use during dental procedures and/or maxillary surgery. Dental stents are available in many shapes, and most are especially designed for different applications, including control of hemorrhage, to facilitate tooth eruption (pedodontic), for proper location of tooth implants, and as a surgical guide in maxillofacial surgery. Some dental stents consist of direct impressions of the mouth and/or oral structures; they are made of stent mass or acrylic or dental compounds.
