A tiny dog with a wedge-shaped head and pointed erect ears. The profuse stand-off double coat includes an abundant ruff around the neck and chest area. The Pomeranians also boast a distinctive feathered tail that fans forward over the back. Coats may be any solid color, but the most common are red, orange, white or cream, blue, brown, or black. Sometimes the coat is parti-colored (white with colored markings), black and tan, wolf, or orange sable. The average height range is 7-12 inches and the average weight range is 3-7 pounds.
