Surgical wound clips designed for the temporary atraumatic approximation of the edges of wounds (e.g., skin, internal tissue) to facilitate suturing procedures. These clips are typically small, usually metallic instruments with two blades properly angled to grasp skin and/or other tissue efficiently and to hold it with minimum trauma; the blades are joined at the midportion or made from a single alpha-shaped part. Surgical suturing clips are used mainly during manual suturing and/or to facilitate the application of suture clips.
