Surgical curettes designed for shaping bone and/or cartilage during endoscopic procedures in the joints (i.e., arthroscopy). These curettes are typically slender, manual, metal instruments with a cup-like or ring-like sharp-edged working end (frequently faceted to facilitate insertion), a straight flexible shaft, and a fine handle appropriate to manipulate the working end. Endoscopic joint surgical curettes are used in a variety of arthroscopic procedures, including hip arthroscopy and the repair of indentation and depressions in bones (also known as notchplasties).
