Intestinal surgical clamps designed with the appropriate size for the atraumatic grasping or compression of a portion of the colon. These clamps are typically handheld, manual instruments with two rectangular blades hinged at one end and a built-in locking mechanism at the other end. Locking colon clamps are used to facilitate end-to-end, lateral, and end-to-side anastomosis, preventing bleeding; they are also used in the excision of colon diverticula.
