Air cleaners designed to remove airborne aerosol microorganisms and other biological agent particulates from room air, possibly by applying radiation (e.g., ultraviolet [UV] light). These cleaners typically include a set of fine filters to remove particulates (e.g., 99.97% of particles bigger than 0.3 micron), including airborne particulates (aerosols) with bacteria and other biological agents. Germicidal air cleaners are intended for continuous use in healthcare facilities, including waiting rooms and doctors\' offices. Dedicated germicidal air cleaners, which use UV light radiation that can kill most bacteria and many virus types, are also available.
