Photographic cameras designed to provide still images from the proximal end of an endoscope. These cameras typically include one or more lenses positioned in the front of the camera, a shutter button that operates the camera, and controls to modify the focus, optical zoom, and time. The endoscopic camera also includes a film or an image sensor for film and digital cameras, respectively; the sensors are attached to the endoscope externally. Endoscope photographic cameras are intended mainly to provide diagnostic data and picture documentation of endoscopic findings.
