Spatulas designed to manipulate and/or dissect eye tissue during the surgical formation of a communication between the anterior chamber of the eye and the suprachoroidal space (i.e., cyclodialysis) performed during surgical procedures for treatment of glaucoma. These devices typically consist of a metallic (e.g., stainless steel) handheld instrument with a straight or curved very thin, flat, blunt distal tip. Some glaucoma surgical eye spatulas are double-ended with a spatula on each end of the handle. Surgical eye spatulas for glaucoma are used in cyclodialysis ophthalmic surgical procedures.
