  • Handheld mirrors designed for visualization of the nasal cavity. These mirrors typically consist of a small lightweight round glass device whose surface is sufficiently polished to reflect an image of the proximal sections of the nose cavity. Nasal mirrors are compact and easy to manipulate, and have a very thin metal (e.g., stainless steel) shaft that supports the mirror, and is also used as a handle. Nasal handheld mirrors are available in a variety of diameter sizes; the handles may be permanently attached to the mirror or detachable, permitting the use of several different handles (e.g., extra thin, bayonet-shaped) with a given mirror. Nasal mirrors are used for examination and some other nasal procedures (e.g., removal of foreign objects, excision of tissue).
