Finger orthoses designed to immobilize, support, or supplement, and/or augment the functions and/or structure of the joints between the finger phalanges (i.e., inter-phalangeal joints). These orthoses may consist of soft, semi-rigid, or rigid devices that are fixed to the hand and fingers keeping the inter-phalangeal joints (proximal, distal, or both) immobilized or allowing only controlled motion. Also available are dedicated inter-phalangeal orthoses for immobilization during rehabilitation after trauma, to provide static and/or dynamic therapy, and for use during normal function of the fingers.
