Molecular assay reagents intended to identify mutations in the glucocerebrosidase (GBA) gene, (also known as glucosidase, beta, acid gene), located at chromosome 1q21, which encodes for beta-glucocerebrosidase, an enzyme that is active in lysosomes. Mutations at this locus have been identified in patients with galactosemia and Gaucher-like disease; the mutations may be also linked to Parkinson\'s or Parkinson\'s-like disorders.
