Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum) to determine circulating antibodies against the sheath that surrounds muscular fibers (I.e., endomesium). These antibodies are highly specific and sensitive for an autoimmune disease characterized by a malabsorption syndrome (i.e., celiac disease) affecting both children and adults; this disease is promoted by ingestion of foods containing gluten, such as cereals.
