PropertyValue
?:definition
  • Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum) to determine the inactive carboxyl-terminal fragment (amino acid sequence 53 to 84) of the parathyroid hormone (i.e., C-terminal PTH fragment). The level of C-terminal PTH in serum is useful in determining the cause of hypercalcemia and hypocalcemia and the parathyroid function status in disorders such as bone and mineral metabolism and renal failure. Secretion of C-terminal PTH fragments persist even in hypercalcemia.
