  • Immunoassay reagents intended to perform quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum, plasma) to measure levels of vancomycin, a tricyclic glycopeptide bactericidal agent, present in the sample. Vancomycin is used in the treatment of gram-positive bacteria and some gram-negative cocci; vancomycin is used in the treatment of severe staphylococcal infections resistant to other antibiotics.
