Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses of body fluids (typically serum) to determine the level of the enzyme alanine transferase (ALT), also known as alanine aminotransferase. ALT in serum is typically increased in liver diseases associated with hepatic necrosis, such as viral hepatitis and infectious mononucleosis with involvement of the liver.
