Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses of body fluids (typically serum) to determine one or several of a group of proteins (apolipoproteins) usually synthesized in the liver and/or intestines. Apolipoproteins are usually found surrounding polar lipids (phospholipids and cholesterol) forming a group of lipid-protein complexes in which lipids are transported in the blood. Apolipoproteins have been labeled and described in five major groups from A to E according to their functions.
