Serology reagents intended to detect antibodies to species of Salmonella bacteria. Salmonella bacteria that are pathologic to humans are classified based on their constituent antigens (serotypes) in three types: S. typhi, the cause of typhoid fever; S. choleraesuis, associated with paratyphoid, gastroenteritis, and septicemia; and S. enteritidis (which includes all other serotypes except the first two), also associated with paratyphoid, gastroenteritis, and septicemia.
