Hematology reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a sample of body fluids (typically plasma) to determine plasminogen, a beta globulin that is one of the components of the fibrinolytic enzyme system in blood. Plasminogen levels are decreased in several diseases including intravascular coagulation, fibrinogenolysis, and severe liver diseases; congenital abnormalities are rare.
