?:definition
  • Pipettes designed to measure and deliver multiple different amounts of liquid, usually in the range from 0.1 to 25.0 milliliters. These pipettes typically consist of a straight glass or plastic tube calibrated using small divisions (i.e., graduation marks) and one tapered end. Measuring pipettes are usually available either with the graduation marks continuing to the tip (i.e., serological pipettes) or with the graduations ending before the tip (known as Mohr pipettes); volumetric pipettes should be used when a better accuracy is needed.
