  • Containers designed to provide a very cold environment for food, biologic, and/or pharmaceutical products (e.g., tissues, medicines, vaccines) during transportation using dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) as a refrigerant. These containers typically consist of a thermally isolated container (e.g., a thick polystyrene box) with capacity enough for the dry ice and the wrapped product that are transported together, avoiding direct contact between the dry ice and the products. Dry ice transport containers are used to preserve food, biological, and pharmaceutical (e.g., vaccines) products.
