  • Carts designed to store and transport slides, typically a large number (from a few hundred to several thousand) of slides are individually placed in special mountings or racks. These carts are manufactured in different configurations that permit either horizontal or vertical filing. The slides are usually stored in rows, providing full visibility of each slide and easy searching, mounting, and removing; they are frequently protected using translucent sheets. Slide storage carts are mostly used for microscope glass slides and/or 35 mm projection slides, some are also appropriate to hold histologic cassettes.
