Dental drill bits designed to be held and revolved manually or by a rotary machine that are intended for placement (i.e., driving) of dental implants. These drill bits typically consist of a cylindrical shank of steel or other hard metal alloy with a uniform cross-section including a working end appropriate to rotate the head of a dental implant and a notched or elongated proximal end that is appropriate to fit into the rotary machine (e.g., a drill, dental handpiece). Dental implant drill bits are used to drive or remove a dental implant during the implantation procedures.
