  • Surgical retractor kits designed for use during procedures involving small incisions of the skin and subcutaneous tissues. These kits typically consist of a collection of devices, instruments, and supplies that are coupled together for temporary separation and retention of the subcutaneous tissue, exposing and/or giving access to anatomical structures and/or organs close to the skin, without manual support once they are set (i.e., self-retained). The retractors frequently consist of a flexible ring, a set of small detachable blades usually providing lateral retraction, a ratchet mechanism to adjust retractor tension, and a fixation post that may be attached to the operating table or a stand.
