  • Systems designed as a combination of ophthalmoscopes, otoscopes, and vital signs measuring instruments mounted on a common frame that is usually attached on a wall. The systems are intended for an early assessment of the physical status and the measuring of one or more vital signs of a patient. These systems typically include standard direct and/or dedicated ophthalmoscopes intended to view the eye fundus, otoscopes (e.g., pneumatic), and one or more vital signs measuring instruments. The vital signs measuring instruments in the system typically are aneroid and/or electronic sphygmomanometers (for noninvasive blood pressure measurements), thermometers, and instruments to measure heart (pulse) rate; the system may also include a pulse oximeter to measure oxygen saturation in the blood (SpO2). Some of the instruments in the system may use a common transformer inserted in the frame. The systems are mainly used by nurses and doctors during primary physical assessment of patients.
