Testers designed to measure the light intensity radiated by light emitting diode (LED) sources. These testers usually consist of portable handheld devices with appropriate sensors (e.g., photodiodes), light filters, electronic circuitry, and a display to show the values of the light intensity, typically measured in lux or foot-candle in a range of 40 to 400,000 lux (4 to 40,000 foot-candle). These testers are used to measure the light intensity of LED light sources taking into consideration the characteristics of the light emitted by these sources (e.g., narrow spectrum and light beam angle).
