Massage units that use waterjets with a barrier between the patient and the water. These massage units typically consist of a base/tank that holds the water and electric components; a mattress that contains pulsating water jets attached to a mobile unit; a surface pad that covers the mattress; and a control panel with adjustable settings for pressure/intensity, pulse frequency, water temperature, and/or area(s) to concentrate therapy delivery. These units operate on an electric power source and are usually self-contained so no plumbing or water disposal is usually necessary.
