An event lasting less than a minute in an infant younger than 1 year of age reported by an observer that is now resolved. Including one or more of the following: cyanosis or pallor; absent, decreased, or irregular breathing; marked change in tone (hypertonia or hypotonia); and altered level of responsiveness. Diagnosed only when there is no explanation for a qualifying event after a history and physical examination and used to evaluate patients who are at lower risk for a subsequent event or serious underlying disorder.
