Lung cancer with tumor measuring more than 3 cm but 5 cm or less in greatest dimension or having any of the following features: involves the main bronchus regardless of distance to the carina, but without involvement of the carina, invades visceral pleura (extends through the elastic layer-PL1 or extends to the surface of the visceral pleura-PL2), or is associated with atelectasis or obstructive pneumonitis that extends to the hilar region, involving part or all of the lung. T2 tumors with these features are classified as T2a if they measure 4 cm or less or if the size cannot be determined and T2b if they measure more than 4 cm but 5 cm or less in greatest dimension.
