  • Radiometers used to measure the power of an optical signal transmitted through a fiberoptic cable. These instruments typically include a calibrated sensor, amplifier and a user interface. The sensor primarily consists of a photodiode appropriate for the range of detected wavelengths and power levels. Radiometers usually display optical power in dBm (decibel-milliwatt) or mW (milliwatt) units and the wavelength or range of wavelengths.
