To provide essential healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare facilities responded in various ways to reduce the risk of virus transmission to patients, their families and staff. Where possible, healthcare work environments were modified to accommodate physical distancing recommendations. In some cases, staff work remotely from home or office reducing occupancy in communal work spaces designed for collaboration. Considerations of effective communication in a physically distanced radiation medicine work environment are described.
