  • From the COVID-19 pandemic to the global protests in response to anti-Black racism, police brutality, and the gruesome police killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, among countless others, the times we live in call us to, perhaps more than we have done in recent decades, reflect on our collective humanity And we believe that a critical part of this process of reflection requires us to engage in honest dialogues about the equity and access issues that threaten our shared humanity, as a community of scholars and professionals, across differences The Underrepresented Racial, Ethnic, and Ability Groups (UREAG), a standing committee of the Comparative and International and Education Society (CIES), brings together diverse scholars and professionals from all over the world through its various programmatic platforms during the CIES annual conference to engage in intentional and frank conversations about systemic and institutional equity and access issues that affect minoritized populations
