The provision of mental health care via technology has been used successfully for several years with rural communities The COVID-19 pandemic, however, led to a substantial surge in usage of tele-mental health as therapists sought to maintain continuity of care for their clients when in-person sessions became unsafe and the need for services increased Based on our experience with tele-mental health, especially synchronous digital video conferencing, in an underserved rural state as 2 trainees and a supervisor, we offer our perspective on considerations for tele-mental health with clients from marginalized communities Three themes are explored: utilizing a multicultural lens, being an advocate, and promoting flexibility within fidelity (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved)
