Elastic bandages designed to apply pressure and to provide support to a body part. These bandages typically contain elastomeric material that provides extension only along its length (i.e., one-way stretch); the bandages may be covered with an adherent substance. Compression/support bandages can provide light (usually less than 20 mm Hg), moderate (20 to 40 mm Hg), or high (40 to 60 mm Hg) pressure. They are intended for treatment of sprains and strains, lymphedema, and venous leg ulcers.
