Measuring instruments designed to measure the total magnetic flux and determine the flux intensity (H) and/or magnetic flux density (B) close to the instrument. These devices typically consist of an electronic unit, magnetic field detectors (e.g., induction coils, Hall-effect strips), and a display that shows the value of the magnetic flux intensity (measured in ampere/m and/or oersted) and/or magnetic flux density (measured in tesla and/or gauss). Fluxmeters are used in healthcare facilities for accurate measurement of magnetic fields, frequently to determine if the magnetic field may produce any interference with the operation of a medical device and/or during the evaluation of an appropriate location for new equipment that may be affected by magnetic fields (e.g., magnetic resonance imaging scanners).
