  • Equipment designed to deliver fluid (i.e., irrigate) to a cavity or other specific area of the body. These devices typically consist of a main unit, including one or more pumps to deliver the liquid, an easy-to-handle (e.g., pistol-like) handpiece with a control (e.g., valve, clamp) for the rate of the irrigation flush, and appropriate tubing to connect the handpiece to the main unit; some automated irrigators may use dedicated software.
