Wheelchair lifts designed to provide a means of vertical access for people with physical disabilities. Most of these lifts consist of a platform onto which the patient wheels the wheelchair, using controls to go up or down; some lifts are capable of lifting the wheelchair, its occupant, and an attendant. Wheelchair lifts are used in places such as hospitals, homes, offices, and stores; some are specially designed for vehicle access.
