  • Devices designed to deliver ozone gas. These generators are typically a device that provides high-voltage current between two sets of electrodes, converting gaseous oxygen into ozone when oxygen passes through the high-energy field. Ozone generators usually include devices to measure the output ozone concentration and a mechanism to internally destroy the unused ozone; the generators should be used at the site of application because it is not possible to store ozone. Ozone has been used clinically for treatment of several different diseases and is delivered by rectal administration, blood treatment and reinfusion, or direct infusion in the vasculature, with controversial results.
