PropertyValue
?:definition
  • Implantable cardiac pacemaker testers designed to measure the minimum electrical stimulus needed to elicit a ventricular contraction and the minimum intracardiac signal amplitude needed to inhibit the pacemaker (i.e., stimulation and sensing thresholds, respectively). They can also measure other parameters of the lead/tissue interface and the pulse generator (e.g., pulse rate and duration, voltage or current output). These testers typically consist of a portable unit that includes measuring devices for the bioelectrical signal, a pulse generator, controllers, and capabilities to test the characteristics and performance of the pulse generator in an implantable pacemaker; some testers include a display and/or a recorder. Intraoperative implantable pacemaker testers are used at the time of pacemaker implantation, for invasive pacemaker evaluation, and/or in electrophysiology diagnostic procedures.
