Balance exercisers designed to improve the user\'s ability to maintain a proper walking posture; the user holds two parallel bars, thus relieving his/her weight when walking. These exercisers usually consist of two parallel wooden or steel handrails, each supported by two poles and base plates; the height and width of the bars are often adjustable. Parallel bar exercisers are intended to improve the user\'s balance, coordination, flexibility; and muscle strength in the lower limbs. They are used in physical therapy and rehabilitation and can also be used for body fitness in gymnastics.
