  • Ophthalmic perimeters that perform peripheral visual assessment with operator involvement in all the steps of each test. Typically, the patient focuses one eye on a spot in the central portion of the perimeter, with the other eye covered with a bandage. The target is passed in several meridians, typically at 15 intervals through the 360 degrees, and the patient is asked to signal whether he or she sees the target in each position. The results are manually recorded for each eye on a polar coordinate chart showing the limits of the visual field.
