Extension tubing sets designed for external connection to a transducer, either directly or from an intermediate stopcock, of the catheters used for measuring invasive pressure (e.g., blood pressure, intracranial pressure); their physical characteristics are appropriate for preserving to the extent possible the waveform and fidelity of the measured pressure. These tubing sets consist of a flexible thick wall plastic (e.g. polyethylene, PVC) tube, up to 2.1 m (7 feet) length and with internal diameters in the range of 1 to 2.5 mm (.04 to 0.1 inches); they usually include appropriate fittings (e.g. Luer connectors, adaptors) on each end.
