PropertyValue
?:definition
  • Monitors designed for continuous measurement and display of blood pressure values that are hard-wired to the patient at the bedside. These monitors typically include sensors, a processor, and a display. Blood pressure monitors display the values of the electrical signals from the sensor as maximum and minimum values of blood pressure (i.e., systolic and diastolic pressures); most monitors also display a mean pressure calculated from the measured values using an algorithm. Blood pressure monitors using invasive or external (noninvasive) sensors are available, and are known as invasive blood pressure (IBP) and non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) respectively.
