Saws designed to cut hard tissue during autopsy and dissection (i.e., postmortem) procedures. These saws are handheld, manual instruments with a serrated-edge blade and a handle, or heavy-duty powered (e.g., electric, pneumatic) instruments that drive a circular rotating or oscillating blade. Postmortem saws are used to cut bones (e.g., cranium) and other hard tissue; they are frequently provided with an extraction unit and a container for collecting bone/tissue debris.
